CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 12, 2017) - The NEP - NPL Division is sending a half dozen girls teams to the 2017 NPL Finals, after these teams finished atop their respective age group standings at the end of a challenging regular season.
Oakwood SC was the only club to earn more than one slot to the NPL Finals - a testament to the competitiveness of the league.
- 13-U girls: NEFC Breakers '04 NPL
- 14-U girls: South Shore Select
- 15-U girls: FC Stars West NPL '02
- 16-U girls: Oakwood SC Attack NPL '01
- 17-U girls: GPS-MA NPL '00
- 18/19-U girls: Oakwood SC 98/99
Oakwood's 16-U girls team finished as a national finalist last year in the 15-U division (pictured above). Stay tuned for the list of qualified boys teams from the NEP - NPL Division.
Teams from the NEP are consistent contenders in US Club Soccer's national championship events - not just the NPL Finals, but also the National Cup Finals.
The NEP - NPL Division is one of 16 qualifying NPLs to the new Elite National Premier League (ENPL) competition.
Just a month away, the 2017 NPL Finals, featuring 13-U through 19-U boys and girls teams, will be held July 13-17 at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind. It is the culminating event of year-long, league-based competition among 22 NPLs throughout the country.
