WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. (Aug. 23, 2017) - A total of 61 players - 37 boys and 24 girls - participated in the Player Development Program (PDP), Aug. 5 at Central Winds Park. The PDP was hosted by the Florida NPL, and the following clubs were represented:

- GPS Florida West
- GPS Orlando
- Jacksonville Armada FC Youth Academy
- Parkland SC
- Space Coast United SC
- Sunrise SC
- Tampa Bay United SC
- West Florida Flames
The PDP targeted 2004-05 boys and 2003-04 girls. Staff coaches were: Mark Hansen (Florida Kraze Krush), Rob Holstein (Jacksonville Armada FC Youth Academy), Vince Laleau (Space Coast United SC), Hue Menzies (Florida Kraze Krush), Dayna Peterson (Florida Kraze Krush) and Chris Waugh (GPS Florida). Top performers from this PDP will receive invitations to next month's id2 Training Camp in Lancaster, Mass.
PDPs are focused around the NPL and other top leagues in specific geographic areas. PDP invitations are based on objective scouting of elite clubs and leagues, combined with recommendations from top Directors of Coaching. The Florida NPL will host another PDP in the spring.
Established in 2011 as part of US Club Soccer’s National Premier Leagues (NPL), the Florida NPL - formerly the Florida Premier League - includes 12 clubs in the 13-U through 18-U boys and girls age groups. The Florida NPL is part of the Florida Premiership, which includes other programming, such as PDPs and the annual Florida Cup. The league was was accepted as an Elite National Premier League (ENPL) qualifier, and beginning in summer 2018, its 14-U through 19-U boys champions will advance to the ENPL Playoffs.
