GSPL 12/13 Season Introduction

The 2012/13 Gulf States Premier League is almost upon us. The new season will begin in Baton Rouge on September 18th and 19th. The league would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the teams who attended the US Club National Finals over the summer and particular congratulations to the MS Fire U13 and U17 teams as they were finalists and the MS Fire U14 girls US Club National Champions. 

Looking toward the Baton Rouge event we have finalized the schedule which can be seen through the link on the left hand side of the page. Also available is the updated game form for 2012 that corrects issues that existed on the past form. The referee fees document has also been updated. For this weekends event a US Club Roster is all that will be required to play. We look forward to another successful season and thank everyone for the continued hard work to improve the league.

GSPL Final Results

The inaugural season of the Gulf States Premier League has drawn to a close with the final four tournament that was played this weekend. Throughout the weekend all teams showed great effort and ability to overcome the challenging conditions and deliver thrilling matchups. The League would like to congratulate the finalists and wish the champions luck in the national tournament in Chicago this summer.

GSPL FINAL FOUR
May 12-13 Jackson, MS
 

The last event of the inagural Gulf States Premier League season will take place on the weekend of the 12th and 13th of May. The event will match up the top four teams in each age group division in both the boys and girls sides of the competition. Teams will play in a semi-filnal, final playoff set up with a consolation game to determin third place. Winners of finals from all age groups will go on to compete in a national competiton through US Club Soccer in Chicago, IL.

Wrap up from fall events

This past weekend was the third event in the inaugural season of the Gulf States Premier League. The season to this point has been very successful overall. Teams first met in Baton Rouge on august nineteenth through the twenty-first for the opening games of the league.
 
Eighty plus games were played with nearly all participating clubs in attendance.
 
More recently nine of the eleven clubs met in Jackson, Mississippi to play the second set of games scheduled for the fall; with the two others meeting in Louisiana. On the weekend of October first and second clubs were matched up in different locations all over the region in the last scheduled weekend of the fall season. Games were played in Florida, Louisiana, and Mississippi in many different venues.
