Currently in its eighth year as US Club Soccer’s player identification and development program, the id2 program now includes boys born in 1998-99 and girls born in 1995-98.
These age groups are critical to begin identifying our nation’s future in the game, as National Team staff will evaluate these players.
There is no cost to the player to be recommended or scouted for the id2 program.
Player recommendations and the results from US Club Soccer’s own scouting process will be used to form a player pool from which qualified players will be invited to an id2 Training Camp.
From the id2 player pool, approximately 60 boys and 60 girls will be invited to attend each id2 Training Camp in the 2011-12. Specific dates and locations of the id2 Training Camps will be announced shortly.
Additionally, US Club Soccer will hold an id2 National Training Camp for 1995-96 girls in early 2012, which will take place in conjunction with the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL).
For the third successive year, a team of the best 18 boys from the id2 Training Camps had the opportunity to experience the day-to-day culture of some of the world’s most well-known professional clubs while also improving themselves via high-level training and game competition as part of the 2012 id2 National Selection International Tour. The 2012 trip traveled to Spain, and was highlighted by matches against academy teams from FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, as well as attending multiple professional games and tourning professional stadiums.
