CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 16, 2013) - The Gulf States Premier League playoffs, held May 10-11 in Mississippi, produced 12 winning teams in U-13 through U-18 boys and girls age groups. Those winners secured slots for the upcoming NPL Finals, July 10-14 in Greensboro, N.C. Six different clubs were represented as champions.
Mississippi Fire had an impressive showing with seven teams winning titles. Louisiana Fire, Cajun SC, Baton Rouge SC, Gulf Coast United FC and Baton Rouge SC/Cajun SC Alliance each produced a championship team.
The tournament's semifinals and finals matches were held at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland, Miss., and at the Jackson Futbol Club in Jackson, Miss. Winning teams are shown below:
