CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 16, 2015) - It was a busy weekend, March 14-15, for the NorCal NPL, as it hosted the Spring College Showcase (Girls) and kicked off the Champions League (Boys).
One of the top girls college showcases in the region, the Spring College Showcase included National Premier Leagues (NPL) member teams at the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex. About 50 college coaches and Player Development Program (PDP) scouts were in attendance.
The showcase event featured the end of the winter division and start of the spring division. Winter teams competed for NPL titles, while spring teams aimed to claim a spot in next season’s state Champions League, which sends its winners to the NPL Finals.
Meanwhile, the NorCal NPL Champions League (Boys) kicked off with U-14 through U-19 teams clamoring for spots to the NPL Finals. Within the Champions League, each division consists of eight teams in a true test of a statewide league championship.
The Champions League runs through the spring with final games taking place April 25-26 at the NorCal NPL Spring Showcase (Boys).
