Seven players from PDPs hosted by Gulf States Premier League, Texas Pre-Academy League earn id2 invites
CHARLESTON, S.C. (Dec. 16, 2014) - Two PDPs, each hosted by NPLs, held in early November generated seven invitations to the recent id2 Training Camp in Casa Grande, Ariz.
On Nov. 2, the Gulf States Premier League hosted a PDP event in Metairie, La. Thirty total boys - 2001 targeted birth years - participated. Jeremy Shortt, from Mississippi Rush SC, emerged from the pack and earned a spot in the id2 Training Camp.
A week later, the Texas Pre-Academy League hosted its own PDP event in Austin, Texas. Of the 29 boys - also 2001 targeted birth years - in attendance, six gained spots in Arizona for the four-day id2 camp. Those players were Ethan Bryant (Scorpions SC), Judson Burns (Andromeda FC), Jesus Frias (Texas Rush SC), Julian Gaines (Lonestar SC), Aidan O'Toole (Lonestar SC) and Axel Picazo (Lonestar SC).
Two U.S. Soccer scouts were in attendance at the id2 Training Camp to observe the boys players for potential invitations to youth national team camps.
